    1. How to access Microsoft Teams

    There are 3 primary ways to access Teams.

     

    1. For the easiest experience you can use the Teams desktop app

    1. You may access teams online through  https://teams.microsoft.com and signing on with your KBH Microsoft Account.

     

     

    1. You can also access it through the Microsoft Account on the KBH Staff Portal.

     

    NOTE: You may be prompted to sign in with your KBH email and password.

    In the Microsoft Web Account, you can find Teams under My Apps

     

    1. How to Join a Teams Meeting

     

    1. Option 1: Join from your email or outlook calendar by clicking on Join the meeting now in the body of the email.

    Note: If you accept the meeting in your email, it will show on your Outlook calendar, you may join the meeting by double clicking to open the calendar item and clicking:

    1. Option 2: Join from the Teams app. Once in the Teams app, select Calendar in the left toolbar:

     

     

    Find the event on the calendar and click Join

    Note: You may also join by double clicking on the calendar event and clicking Join the meeting now.

     

    1. If/When prompted:
    • Choose Open Teams App (recommended), or
    • Choose Continue on this browser (no download needed)

     

     

    1. Set Up Your Microphone and Camera (Before Entering the Meeting)
    1. When you click Join, Teams will show a preview screen.

    You can:

    1. Turn your camera ON/OFF
    2. Turn your microphone ON/OFF
    3. Choose your devices:
    • Click the small arrow next to the microphone or camera icons
    • Select the correct microphone, speaker, or camera

     

     

    1. During the Meeting

    At the top or bottom of your screen, you will see a control bar with icons.

    1. Microphone: mute/unmute yourself
    2. Camera: turn camera on/off
    3. React:  interactive emoji’s
    4. Raise Hand: lets the presenter know you want to speak
    5. Chat: type questions or comments (everyone can see them)
    6. People: see who is in the meeting
    7. Leave: exit the meeting when done

     

    1. How to Use the Chat

     

    1. Click the Chat icon in the meeting toolbar.
    2. A panel opens on the right.
    3. Type your message in the text box at the bottom.
    4. Press Enter to send.

    1. Tips:

     

    1. Make sure you are on mute to prevent background noise, unless you are the speaker.

     

    1. If you can’t hear the meeting:
    • Check your computer volume
    • Make sure your headphones or speakers are plugged in
    • In the preview screen, confirm the correct speaker is selected

     

    1. If others cannot hear you:
    • Make sure your microphone is ON
    • Choose the correct microphone from the device menu
    • If using a headset, ensure it’s plugged in

     

    1. If your camera won’t turn on:
    • Close Zoom or other apps using your camera
    • Try toggling camera OFF then ON

    1. If Teams freezes or is slow:
    • Wait a minute to see if it’s just a glitch
    • Leave and rejoin the meeting
    • Restart your browser or the Teams app

     

    1. How to React and Participate:
    • Click the Reactions button to send emojis (thumbs up, clapping, etc.)
    • Use Raise Hand to signal you want to talk
