IT Tips and Tricks

Opening Multiple Menu Items

  1. If you right-click over a menu item it will offer to open the link in a new window or tab.
  2. If you hold the Ctrl key and click it, it will open using the default (typically, it is just another tab).
  3. If it does open in a new tab, but you want it to be a different window, you can grab the tab with the mouse and pull it out.

Finding things

d. All browsers support F3 to open a find dialog, but it will also attempt to scroll the window to the thing that was found, which can be handy in long lists in Neo.

e. Many areas in Neo offer a “Filter Bar” at the top of grid views (the Excel looking lists), just below the header captions. In these boxes you can do quick, custom filtering. There is a pin icon next to the boxes to make these searches even more powerful with options like ‘Contains’ and ‘Not Equals’.

 Zooming

Two fast ways to increase/decrease the size of the Text & images on a web page:

1.              <CTRL> <+> Zoom IN,   <CTRL> <-> Zoom Out

2.              <CTRL> Mouse-Wheel Forward – Zoom IN, <CTRL> Mouse-Wheel Back – Zoom OUT.

<CTRL> <0> (zero)Resets back to Normal viewing.

Remember, changing resolution on your screen by Zooming in / out will effect how that webpage is displayed. Zooming in too far typically means a lot more scrolling to find what was scrolled off the screen due to the change. Most Neo screens are designed to show the whole page in a normal 800 x 600 resolution.
